The Nickel Alloy Families in One Paragraph Each
- Inconel (Ni-Cr): the heat family. 600 and 601 live in furnace and thermal duty; 625 adds molybdenum and niobium for strength with seawater-grade corrosion resistance, the closest thing to a universal donor on this shelf.
- Monel (Ni-Cu): the fluorine specialist. Where HF acid or fluoride chemistry rules, Monel 400 is often the only sensible pipe on earth, which is why alkylation units keep it employed.
