Stainless Steel Tubes Supplier & Exporter

The stainless steel tubes are commonly used in industries where corrosion resistance, durability, and strength are very important. Metinox overseas is a trusted manufacturer and supplier of high quality Stainless steel tubes that are used in the demanding food processing and construction industries as well as chemical processing or in oil and gas. These tubes are made of high-grade alloys that include ASTM A213, ASTM A269, and ASTM A312 which provide great resistance to oxidation pressure, and temperature changes. Stainless steel tubes are frequently used in heat exchangers, fluid transport systems, and structural components because this material has a smooth finish surface and good structural integrity. Stainless steel tubes are a critical component of modern industrial use because of their combination of a long lifespan, hygienic characteristics, and mechanical strength.

Types of Stainless Steel Tubes

We manufacture and supply a full variety of stainless steel tubing, all designed to meet a particular service condition, pressure rating, dimensional tolerance, and industry use. The types are all offered in a variety of grades that are completely certified to ASTM / ASME / EN.

Stainless Steel Seamless Tubes — ASTM A213 / A269

The stainless steel is made using two methods, one is cold-drawn, and another is hot-finished, which are made up of hot-finished billets with no weld seam and provide a proper thickness

Stainless Steel Welded Tubes — ASTM A249 / A269 / A554

Stainless steel welded tubes are made with the help of precision-rolled strips, which are TIG-welded without filler metal and sized or drawn to the current OD and wall tolerance. They provide low-to-moderate pressure and general corrosion service as an alternative with a more economical alternative to seamless tubes with excellent dimensional consistency and surface finish.

Stainless Steel Square Tubes — ASTM A554

The stainless steel round tubes are also used in many industries, such as process piping, instrumentation, heat exchangers, architectural handrails and buildings and are supplied in seamless and welded types. They are in an OD range continuous between 3mm and 508mm and a wall thickness of 0.5mm to 20mm. and pressure along the entire length. High-pressure instrumentation lines, boiler service, heat-exchanger tubes, and applications of critical processes must be built seamlessly.

Stainless Steel Square Tubes — ASTM A554

Stainless square tubes are welded stainless steel tubes, which are made in a square profile, mainly used in the fields of structure, architecture, and mechanical. The standard specification of facades, balustrades, handrail systems, machine frames and ornamental building features is grade 304 and 316. Unrated to pressure service.

Stainless Steel Rectangular Tubes — ASTM A554

Stainless steel rectangular tubes are produced by the same process as square tubes and are applied in structural framing, support columns, conveyor systems and architectural features that need to have aspect ratios other than square.

Stainless Steel Capillary Tubes — ASTM A269

Stainless steel capillary tubes are made in very small-diameter, thin-wall precision tubes that are used in many medical devices, scientific instruments, thermocouples, hydraulic systems, and fluid-sampling applications. They are made with the cold-drawn techniques with extremely tight OD and wall tolerances with a clean, smooth bore.

316 Stainless Steel Tubes

The 316 stainless steel tubes are made up of 2-3 % molybdenum to the base of the 18/8 austenitic, giving it the highest pitting and crevice corrosion resistance of the standard grades. Preferred tube specifications are used in marine, offshore, pharmaceutical, food, and chemical process applications, where usage of chloride-bearing media, saline fluids, and corrosive process streams is involved.

Available in: Seamless (ASTM A213, A269) | Welded (ASTM A249, A269, A554) | Square/Rectangular (ASTM A554) Size range: 3 mm OD to 508 mm OD Common specifications: 316 / 316L (dual-certified) | 316H (high-carbon, elevated-temp service)

SS Seamless Tubing — Instrumentation & Hydraulic

SS instrumentation and hydraulic service Seamless tubing is precision cold-drawn to form the tightest OD tolerances (usually within ± 0.05 mm) and a bore finish that is both smooth as possible and the finest available. Applications used in hydraulic control systems, pneumatics, thermowell assemblies, sample lines, and gas-chromatography tubing.

FAQs About Stainless Steel Tubes

A stainless steel tube is specified by exact outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness in mm, optimised for precision instrumentation, heat transfer, structural, and hygienic applications where tight dimensional tolerances matter. A stainless steel pipe is specified by nominal pipe size (NPS) and schedule — a conventional sizing system for fluid conveyance and process piping. Metinox supplies both stainless steel tubes and pipes across all major grades and standards.

ASTM A213 covers seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy-steel tubes specifically for boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger service — minimum wall thickness specification, high-temperature grades (321H, 347H) included. ASTM A269 covers both seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing for general corrosion-resisting and low- or high-temperature service — nominal wall thickness, broader size range, and instrumentation use. A213 is the boiler and pressure specification; A269 is the general-service and instrumentation specification.

SS 304 tube offers excellent general corrosion resistance and is the standard choice for food, pharmaceutical, water, and general industrial applications. 316 stainless steel tube adds 2–3% molybdenum which provides significantly enhanced resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-bearing environments — marine, offshore, chemical processing, and pharmaceutical applications involving saline media. For welded tubes, always specify 304L or 316L (low-carbon) to prevent weld sensitisation.

Stainless steel seamless tubes are available from 3 mm OD to 168 mm OD with wall thickness from 0.5 mm to 20 mm per ASTM A213 and A269. SS seamless tubing for instrumentation is typically supplied in OD 3 mm to 25 mm with walls from 0.5 mm to 3 mm in coil or straight lengths. For larger OD (up to 273 mm), ASTM A213 seamless boiler tubes are available in straight lengths. Custom OD and wall combinations can be cold-drawn to order.

Stainless steel capillary tubes are very small-diameter precision tubes (OD typically 0.5 mm to 12 mm, wall 0.05 mm to 2 mm) used in medical devices (hypodermic needles, catheters), scientific instruments (chromatography columns, thermocouples), hydraulic control systems, sample-line assemblies, and pressure sensors. They are cold-drawn to very tight tolerances and supplied in bright-annealed (BA) finish per ASTM A269. Grade 316L is specified for medical and pharmaceutical applications; 304 for general instrument service.

Both stainless square tubes and stainless steel round tubes per ASTM A554 are welded structural profiles — the choice depends on the structural and aesthetic requirement. Square tubes offer better resistance to bending in two axes and flat faces that simplify bracket and face-to-face welding connections. Round tubes offer better torsional resistance and a cleaner aesthetic for handrails, balustrades, and architectural features. Both are available in grade 304 (economy) and 316 (corrosion-critical or coastal) with No.4 or mirror-polished finish.
