Metinox Overseas manufactures and supplies forged fittings in 2.25Cr-1Mo alloy steel (UNS K21590) that meet ASTM A182 F22. We offer socket weld and threaded fittings from Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 LB and sizes available for power plant piping, boiler circuits, fired heater skids. All fittings come with full material traceability, EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Reports and third party inspection if requested. Critical project needs can be dispatched at an urgent or immediate pace.
Upgrade to ASTM A182 F91 Forged Fittings only when service temperature exceeds the ASME B31.1 allowable stress ceiling for F22. For lower-temperature services where a Cr-Mo alloy is still required, ASTM A182 F11 Forged Fittings offer a cost-effective alternative within the broader Alloy Steel Pipe Fittings range.

F22 and WP22 share an identical 2.25Cr-1Mo composition, yet they cover entirely different product forms and connection methods. For wrought buttweld fittings in larger bore pipe systems, refer to our ASTM A234 WP22 Pipe Fittings page. The table below clarifies the key differences.

Metinox Overseas supplies F22 Class 1 and Class 3 socket weld and threaded fittings with full material traceability, mill test reports, and third-party inspection. Share your inquiry with size, class, pressure rating, and quantity and our team will respond with a quotation within 24 hours.
Send RFQClass 1 is annealed or normalized and tempered, with a minimum tensile of 415 MPa (60 ksi) and is used where ductility during forming is the priority. Class 3 is normalized and tempered, reaching 515 MPa (75 ksi) minimum tensile and 310 MPa (45 ksi) minimum yield, making it the required class for 6000 LB and 9000 LB pressure-class connections per ASME B16.11.
Upgrade to F91 only when service temperature exceeds the allowable stress limit of F22 in ASME B31.1, generally above 593°C (1100°F). F91 adds vanadium and niobium for superior creep resistance in ultra-supercritical boiler circuits. For most subcritical and conventional supercritical plant designs, F22 Class 3 remains the correct and more cost-effective selection.
ASTM A182 F22 forged fittings are manufactured from 1/4 inch to 4 inch NPS in 3000 LB, 6000 LB, and 9000 LB pressure classes per ASME B16.11. Both socket weld and threaded end connections are available across all pressure classes. Class 3 heat treatment is required for 6000 LB and 9000 LB ratings.
Both share the identical 2.25Cr-1Mo chemistry. ASTM A182 F22 covers forged socket weld and threaded fittings for small-bore connections dimensioned to ASME B16.11. ASTM A234 WP22 covers wrought buttweld fittings in larger bore sizes dimensioned to ASME B16.9. Specify A182 F22 for instrument taps and small-bore branches; specify A234 WP22 for main line buttweld elbows and tees.
