The manufacturing process follows the following step-by-step process.
- Raw Material Selection: The best Incoloy 800 / 800H / 800HT billets are chosen. These alloys have better strengths, corrosion and elevated temperature stability especially in nickel-iron-chromium alloys.
- Heating: To obtain the necessary plasticity of the hot working and shaping, the billets are heated to a controlled range of temperatures (usually approximately 1150 regarding 1250 o C).
- Piercing: A rotary piercer or mandrel mill is used to pierce the heated billets into a hollow shell that is used to create seamless pipes or tubes.
- Elongation & Sizing: A hollow shell is rolled elongated to obtain the desired outside diameter and thickness of the walls to get the desired dimension.
- Hot Rolling & Annealing: Hot rolling improves homogeneity and mechanical characteristics. Solution annealing is done to relieve the internal stresses as well as enhance ductility and corrosion resistance.
