Metinox Overseas custom manufactures and produces Alloy Steel T91 Tubes which are designed by a controlled addition of alloying elements to improve particular mechanical and physical characteristics. With Alloy steel T91 seamless tubes, each element of the alloying constituents has a specified range or minimum percentage threshold that is adhered to in line with the accepted construction standards. Al welded T91 tubes are characterized by high mechanical performance at ambient and high temperatures, and can be relied on to perform over a maximum of 1020degF (550degC). These tubes are very resistant to corrosion by sulphuric and phosphoric acids and are generally considered as the economical solution when it comes to the sulphuric acid application. By adding copper and molybdenum to Alloy Steel T91 ERW tubes, resistance to general stress corrosion is increased along with localized attack which includes crevice corrosion.

Being a grade of austenitic, the AS T91 tubes are very ductile over a wide temperature span, including cryogenic temperatures up to temperature in excess of 1000degF (538degC). AS T91 seamless tubes have good fabrication properties, and they can be easily shaped and welded by a variety of standard industrial processes. The equal composition of molybdenum and copper facilitates the AS T91 welded tubes in performing well even in the environment of reducing agents and corrosive acids. The AS T91 tubes are however not usually suitable in those applications where creep-rupture strength is a main design factor.
