Alloy steels are classified into two wide groups, i.e., low-alloy steels and high-alloy steels. Alloy steel T1 smooth tubes are also described as the steels where alloying elements are added intentionally to obtain a particular mechanical and chemical behaviour in controlled quantities over carbon and with the aim of attaining certain mechanical and chemical properties. Some of the popular alloying elements include manganese, nickel, chromium, silicon, boron, molybdenum and vanadium that are incorporated in the welding of Alloy Steel T1 tubes. Specific forms of AS T1 seamless tubes are used in very hard and special purposes like turbine components in jet engines, aerospace and nuclear facilities. The AS T1 welded tubes are also easily used in the other parts that require magnetic reaction and are therefore used in electric drives and transformers, mostly because of the magnetic properties of iron. Generally, hardening of production of material, choice of more carbon-prone alloys without hardening or a combination of both may increase the wear resistance of AS T1 tubes. It is applied to AS T1 ERW and seamless tubes whose nominal and minimum wall thickness is to be provided and which are to be in constant service and of high temperature.
