Alloy 20 UNS N08020 is a material made up of iron, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper, and which is utilized to produce butt weld fittings that have been able to resist corrosion as per the standards of ASTM B366. However, it is important to observe that due to the high amounts of nickel (32 – 38%) and copper (3 – 4%), Alloy 20 is a nickel alloy. Moreover, it is more corrosion-resistant to sulfuric acid environment than austenitic stainless steels. The alloy is resistant to sulfuric acid due to Ni (32-38%), Cr (19-21%), Mo (2-3%) and Cu (3-4%) in concentrations up to 98% and temperature 66°C (150°F). Metinox Overseas provides Alloy 20 buttweld fittings to the ASTM B366 / ASME SB366 to accompany a mill test report issued by the EN 10204 3.1 standard, along with PMI testing, if requested, and heat number traceability to every batch of fittings.

Alloy 20 (UNS N08020) pipe fittings are specified in industries where exceptional resistance to sulfuric acid and other aggressive corrosive media is critical. Key service environments include:
ASTM B366 / ASME SB366 | UNS N08020 | Sizes ½" to 48" NPS | WP20CB & CR20CB
Contact UsASTM B366 UNS N08020 is a standard specification for nickel-iron-chromium alloy (Alloy 20) pipe fittings used in corrosion-resistant applications, especially in acidic environments.
Alloy 20 (Carpenter 20) is a corrosion-resistant alloy containing nickel, chromium, and copper, commonly used in pipe fittings for handling sulfuric acid and chemical processing.
WP20CB refers to wrought Alloy 20 pipe fittings manufactured as per ASTM B366, where "WP" means wrought pipe fittings and "20CB" indicates the Alloy 20 grade.
In ASTM B366, both CR20CB and WP20CB are wrought Alloy 20 fittings. "CR" denotes corrosion-resistant class fittings designed for higher pressure ratings, while "WP" refers to standard wrought pipe fittings. The difference relates to pressure class, not cast vs wrought.
UNS N08020 is commonly equivalent to DIN 2.4660, EN X2NiCrMoCuN20-18-7, and BS NA 20, depending on the specification.
