Our Stainless Steel 316H EFW Pipe is to provide greater creep and stress rupture strength than typical 316 grade and low-carbon 316L grade pipes. With a carbon level of 0.04-0.10 it gives the required structural integrity to be used in service up to 1500degF (816degC). These pipes are manufactured according to ASTM A358 and they have become the backbone of the current petrochemical refinery and power generation stations. Molybdenum is added so that as the pipe can be exposed to high heat it can also maintain the same level of resistance to pitting and crevaccial corrosion. Metinox Overseas makes such pipes in high diameter and different wall thickness which are commonly used as a cost-effective substitute to seamless pipes in non-critical pressure areas. SS 316H EFW Pipes are electric fusion welding pipes that are produced through the electron beam welding operation. The kinetic energy is also directly affected by the high-speed movement of the electron beam. These are pipes that are made by welding or rolling plate.
SS 316 H pipes are highly resistant to a large atmosphere of corrosion. SS EFW pipes have good service to both the pitting and crevice corrosion in the warm chlorides and stress corrosion cracking temperatures of above 60 deg C. they are also resistant to potable water with chlorides at the down temperatures. It is however not resistant to warm seawaters.
Stainless steel EFW pipes have good oxidation resistance up to 870 deg C and further to 925 deg C in intermittent temperature, it is solution annealed between 1010 deg C and 1120 deg C. exception it cannot be hardened by the heat-treatment process.
