The low carbon content of the 316L grade prevents the formation of carbide and increases the weldability. Such pipes come in various sizes size 1/2 to 24 inches as seamless, and from 6 to 100 inches as welded pipes. They possess a tensile strength of 458 Mpa, a yield strength of 170 Mpa and an elongation of 40 % and this makes them durable and reliable in demanding situations. These pipes are highly corrosion resistant with good machinability which makes it ideal in heat exchangers, pipelines and construction materials.
