It is mostly used for making heating equipment as well as furnace parts. SS 310 S is similar to SS 310 but have low carbon contents. SS 310S is used in fluidized combustor, burner, food processing and steam boiler equipment. Also, it is used in the cryogenic structures as well as petroleum refinery. A key feature of the grade 310 is its high resistance to corrosion.

SS 310 grade is not recommended to be heat treated for hardening it instead use cold working to do so.
