SS 347H stainless steel is a high-carbon, niobium-stabilized austenitic grade, which is specifically used to provide excellent performance in high temperature and corrosive conditions. The addition of niobium will inhibit the formation of carbide during welding and during extended heat exposure, and the additional carbon will increase the strength at high temperatures and creep resistance. SS 347H Flanges have found many applications in piping systems that require high thermal stability, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and high service life. They can operate successfully at high pressure, high temperature and under chemically aggressive conditions giving them excellent structural integrity and leak-free connections in chemical processing, petrochemical plant, refineries, power generation plants, aerospace systems, exhaust systems, offshore platforms and other challenging industrial applications.

What Are SS 347H Flanges?

The SS 347H is produced on the basis of ASTM A182 F347H standards and is made of forged and rolled stainless steel to manufacture high-performance piping systems. This grade entails the stabilization of niobium, higher carbon content, which enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion, the elimination of carbide precipitation during welding and the provision of high strength and creep resistance during high temperatures. SS 347H flanges are particularly well-suited for systems that experience constant high pressures and temperatures, as well as in harsh environments of the industrial media, and hence are ideal in chemical plants, refineries, petrochemical units, heat exchangers, power generation systems, aerospace and exhaust components, offshore platforms, and other high-temperature critical applications.
