Metinox Overseas is a trusted manufacturer of high quality Stainless Steel 310H Pipe (SS 310H Pipes) that are the most susceptible to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) when subjected to a halide environment compared to other austenitic stainless steels as they contain lower levels of nickel. These pipes have a good performance in fresh water systems, which have low levels of chloride. The factors that facilitate SCC in welded SS 310H pipes usually consist of halides ions (particularly chlorides), residual tensile stress and temperatures above 120F (49C). SS 310H EFW Pipes have high corrosion resistance in a wide variety of environments and over a wide range of corrosive agents. They have a great oxidation resistance at intermittent service up to 870C and continuous service up to 925C. Nonetheless, at chloride-rich environments, the type 310H SS pipes can be subjected to pitting or crevice corrosion whereas SCC poses a risk at temperatures over 60C. Chloride thresholds are an important consideration to 310H grade pipes especially where crevices are present. High concentrations of chloride have the potential of initiating pitting and crevice attack.
The Alloy 310H Pipes are mainly subject to stresses associated with cold forming, roller expansion to tube sheets or welding thermal cycles. These stresses are reduced by post forming annealing or stress relief treatment which increases the resistance to halide induced SCC.
Our SS 310H pipes are manufactured to withstand intense thermal stress and are available in a wide variety of dimensions and schedules to suit complex engineering designs.

The foundation of the high-temperature industrial setting is Stainless Steel 310H Pipes. These pipes also use a limited amount of carbon content coupled with a high alloy content of chromium and nickel and thus the alloy base specifically designed to serve the services in which creep resistance and structural stability is of utmost importance.
Very widely used in the furnace parts, annealing, radiant tube and conveyor belt used in high temperature kilns.
Ideal to use SS 310H Welded Pipes in the process of catalytic recovery systems, flare stack, and reformers that may have corrosive gases at extreme temperatures.
Used in steam boilers, superheater tubes, and pulverized coal burners since ASTM A312 TP310H Pipes can be used to a temperature of 1150C.
Used in food drying chambers or sterilizers and ovens where UNS S31009 Pipes are required to remain stable to the extreme heat cycles without reacting to food acids or cleaning solution.
Although known to be heat tolerant, the hard austenitic structure of the AISI 310H Round Pipes is also highly tough in low temperatures.
Necessary in the incinerators and thermal oxidizers that burn hazardous waste under high thermal conditions.
To source SS 310H Pipes it is necessary to have a partner which is aware of the sensitivity of the high alloy materials. Metinox Overseas is the leading manufacturer and supplier of SS 310H Pipes in India due to the following reasons:

The carbon content in the former is the key difference. Although standard 310 has a maximum carbon content of 0.25 percent, SS 310H (UNS S31009) has a variation of 0.04-0.10 percent. This additional carbon content is specifically meant to be used to give excellent creep strength and resistance when the temperature exceeds 500C.
Yes. Although 310H Stainless Steel is a high-temperature alloy, it is an austenitic grade allowing it to remain extraordinarily tough and ductile even at cryogenic temperatures and therefore, 310H Stainless Steel is an extremely versatile alloy in extreme environments.
SS 310H Pipes have a maximum oxidation resistance in continuous service to 1150C and an intermittent service to 1040C. They are best suited to areas where sulfur dioxide gas of high temperature is experienced.
Yes, with every one of our Stainless Steel 310H Pipes we include a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) indicating the chemical composition, mechanical properties and the heat number that will guarantee complete traceability.
