SS 310 stainless steel is a premium grade of austenitic stainless steel alloy, with a composition of high chrome and high nickel that is specifically engineered to provide excellent performance in an environment with extremely high temperatures and oxidation. The chromium content is great with regard to oxidation and corrosion resistance, whereas the nickel content makes it strong and resistant to high temperatures. SS 310 Flanges have become very popular in piping systems that require high thermal resistance, mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and a long life cycle. These flanges are used in high-pressure, high-temperature, and chemically hostile environments and provide good structural integrity and leak-free connections in chemical processing, petrochemical plants, refineries, power generation units, furnaces, heat treatment plants, exhaust environments, offshore, and other extreme environments of the industrial environment.
The SS 310 flanges are made in line with ASTM A182 F310 and are made out of forged and rolled stainless steel, and are used in high-performance and high-temperature piping systems. It is a grade that has a high composition of chromium and nickel that renders it very resistant to oxidation, scaling, and corrosion in a continuous service operation at high temperature. The SS 310 flanges are designed in a special way to suit systems that are subjected to excessive pressure, heat, and difficult industrial media. They find application in chemical facilities, refineries, petrochemical plants, furnaces, heat exchangers, power facilities, thermal processing, exhaust, offshore facilities, and other high-performance applications that require thermal stability, corrosion resistance, and a long service life.

The stainless steel 310 Flanges are commonly used in many industrial applications, and some of the common industries are given below.
They are used in radiant tubes, burners, kilns, and furnace piping, where constant exposure to the high temperatures necessitates high oxidation and high heat resistance.
Used in heat exchangers, reformers, flare lines, and high temperature process pipelines where thermal stability and long-time performance is of paramount importance.
It is fitted in boilers, superheaters, steam lines, and exhaust systems where there is a high temperature and pressure without getting weak.
Applied to hot chemical pipeline, the reactors and thermal process systems that are operated in corrosive and high temperature conditions.
The majority of the companies apply this in the flare systems, heat transfer lines and the high temperature pipeline networks that are exposed to heat and adverse working conditions.
Used in exhaust systems in high temperatures and thermal components where the stability of materials under heat is vital.
It is applied in chimneys, ducting and ventilation systems that are under constant stress insofar as there are hot gases and thermal load.
It is normally installed in incinerators, reactors and thermal plants where durability to heat and oxidation is needed.

The SS 310 is a high-temperature stainless steel used to make flanges that can handle extreme heat and oxidizing environments.
SS 310 is made for high-temperature service, while SS 304 is better for general corrosion resistance and normal-temperature applications.
SS 310 flanges are highly resistant to rust and corrosion, but very harsh conditions can still cause surface oxidation over time.
SS 310 flanges can be welded using standard stainless steel welding methods with proper filler material and controlled heat input.
SS 316 flanges are stronger in corrosion resistance, while SS 310 flanges are stronger in high-temperature performance.
