Bright Annealed Tubes

View Products

In applications where contamination control, surface purity and dimensional accuracy are critical, Bright Annealed Tubes are the choice of professionals. We produce and export all types of Bright Annealed Stainless Steel Tubes that comply with — and often surpass — the standards set by the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, food processing, dairy and petroleum industries at Metinox Overseas. Owing to a mirror-like inner surface (Ra < 0.4 µm) and a surface oxide layer that has been removed, our BA tubes are treated in a controlled atmosphere in order to introduce hydrogen or nitrogen-hydrogen.

The Ra < 0.4 µm bore surface reduces microbial adhesion, supports CIP/SIP cycle validation, and satisfies FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EHEDG surface hygiene requirements without secondary polishing Each tube produced at our facility comes with complete Mill Test Certificates (MTC EN 10204 3.1/3.2), and we have a full traceability system from raw material to dispatch. Metinox Overseas offers standard catalogue sizes or bespoke cut to length at competitive prices, quality and lead time – anywhere in the world.

What Are Bright Annealed Tubes?

Bright Annealing is a special heat-treatment process where stainless steel tubes are heated to a range of temperatures from 1,040°C to 1,200°C in a furnace under a protective atmosphere, usually a dry hydrogen or a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen. The surface of the tube is free from discoloration and scale while the process is oxygen-free, which eliminates surface oxidation and allows the tube to be stress relieved and optimised for corrosion, while also being metallurgically superior.

Frequently Asked Questions - Bright Annealed Tubes

A Bright Annealed (BA) Tube is a stainless steel tube that has been heat-treated inside a sealed furnace filled with a protective hydrogen or nitrogen-hydrogen atmosphere. Unlike standard annealing performed in air, bright annealing prevents surface oxidation, producing a clean, oxide-free, bright surface with a roughness below 0.4 µm. The result is superior corrosion resistance, restored ductility, and a hygienic inner bore - making BA tubes indispensable in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, food processing, and dairy applications.

Our standard Bright Annealed Tubes achieve an inner surface Ra of less than 0.4 µm. For ultra-high-purity semiconductor and biotechnology applications, we also supply Electropolished (EP) tubes with Ra values between 0.04 and 0.24 µm, compliant with ASME BPE and SEMI F17/F19 standards.

Metinox Overseas supplies BA tubes in grades 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 321, 347, 904L, and duplex 2205, among others. The most frequently specified grades for hygienic and high-purity applications are 304L and 316L due to their low carbon content and superior corrosion performance after welding.

Our BA tubes are manufactured to ASTM A249, ASTM A268, ASTM A269, ASME BPE, SEMI F17, SEMI F19, ANSI/ASME B36.19M, and B46.1 standards. European equivalents including EN 10296-2, EN10312, and EN 10217-7 are also available. All tubes are supplied with MTC EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 as required.

We supply Bright Annealed Tubes from 6 mm to 76.2 mm OD, with wall thickness ranging from 0.5 mm to 3.38 mm, in both seamless and welded configurations. Custom sizes outside this range are available on inquiry with minimum order quantities.

Yes. We supply tubes in fixed cut lengths with a tolerance of ±3.2 mm (±1/8"), or in random lengths (+50 mm / -0 mm). Custom cut-to-length services are available for project-specific requirements, with no additional lead time for standard sizes.

Every tube undergoes ultrasonic testing (UT), eddy current testing (ECT), hydrostatic pressure testing, chemical composition analysis, dimensional inspection, surface roughness measurement (Ra), and mechanical property testing. Full documentation - including MTC, test reports, and dimensional inspection reports - is provided with each shipment.

Yes. Metinox Overseas regularly exports to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kenya, Nigeria, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Europe, the UK, and the Americas. We handle all export documentation, ECGC compliance, and can arrange shipment on FOB, CFR, or CIF terms.

We aim to respond to all inquiries within 24 business hours. To receive a precise quote, please share the grade, OD, wall thickness, finish, standard, quantity, and required documentation. You can email sales@metinoxoverseas.com or use the inquiry form on our website.

Export shipments are packed in tri-wall corrugated boxes, with individual tubes wrapped in paper/poly sleeves to protect the bright annealed surface. Scored cardboard dividers prevent tube-to-tube contact. Custom packaging per importer/customer requirements is available.
